Currently tickling my eardrums...

Speaking of periodicals, here's a few I fancy:

I need to get back into the swing of things.

In this month's issue of Juxtapoz, I discovered the work of Chloe Early. Her paintings are dreamlike and ethereal. They really make me want to get back into painting, it's just so hard to paint when your "studio space" is less than ideal. I've taken sort of a long break to work on collages and some drawings, I even made a book! I'll post photos soon. Here are some of her paintings...

Her work reminds me of Conor Harrington's, in that parts of his paintings are meticulously rendered, and other parts are loose, graffiti-inspired, and seemingly undone.

More stuff from UO that I love.

Vintage style rotary telephone.

Chrome fish-eye camera.

As a little girl,

I got a new pair of saddle shoes each new school year. They bring back memories of Shirley Temple movies and wearing my hair in French braids.

Over a year later, I still can't stop listening to...

The Into the Wild soundtrack by Eddie Vedder

TGIF

If you haven't yet, go out this weekend and see I Love You, Man. I haven't laughed that much at a movie in a long time! Paul Rudd is hilariously awkward and I've developed a small obsession with Jason Segel- still haven't seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I hear there's full frontal! And that's a good enough reason in my book to see any movie.

This is why Urban Outfitters is my favorite store.

DIY with some bleach and rubberbands?

These tights are delightfully tacky.

I used to have a pair of faux-leather pants like this when I was in 6th grade. They were extremely hot and uncomfortable to wear, but they rocked!

This summery dress could easily transition to cold weather-wear with tights and a cardigan.

No Doubt is touring this summer for the first time in what seems like forever, and you bet your sweet virgin ass I'm going! I'm especially stoked because I've never seen them live. Tragic Kingdom was the first CD I ever bought, at the tender age of ten. At twelve, after a case of chicken pox left me with a scar between my eyebrows, I looked to Gwen Stefani for inspiration and filled it in with red glitter glue. And no, I'm not embarassed by that. Maybe I should be. Anyway, July 11th in Tinley Park! Woo hoo!
