On Mother's day, I took my mom and brother to see The Soloist with Robert Downey, Jr. and Jamie Foxx, and we all really enjoyed it. It's a true story based on the book by Steve Lopez (played by RDJ), a Los Angeles Times columnist who meets a homeless and troubled musical prodigy, Nathaniel Ayers (played by Foxx). It was inspiring and beautiful, and I highly recommend it. I think maybe I'll check out the book from the library when I finish Alice Sebold's The Almost Moon.5.12.2009
I think it's time to read the book now...

Fringe Benefits

I had been obsessing over this bag since I originally saw it at Urban Outfitters months ago, but couldn't justify spending $78 on a purse. So when I saw it for 1/2 off, my heart stopped. I wandered around the mall for an hour with Amanda debating whether or not to spend the money on it, but ultimately decided that I loved it and that it needed a home in my closet. I'm happy to say it's mine now! Rick called me Sacagawea when he saw it and Amanda says I may need a fringe intervention but I don't care... it's love.
